Austin Butler and Vanessa Hudgens narrowly avoiding one another at the 2023 Oscars may have captured the awkwardness of running into an ex, but who better to show us the benefits of forgetting they exist entirely than Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer?

In news to, well, everyone, the Friends co-stars have surprisingly reunited for a brief cameo in UberEats’ latest commercial. In another stroke of marketing genius, the food delivery conglomerate has reminded us about its ability to deliver almost everything to your door by casting a slew of celebrities who have forgotten important details in favour of remembering UberEats can bring you anything.

(“In order to remember something, you gotta forget something else… make a little room,” the Morning Wars star sagely advised us in the commercial). Cue a much-anticipated reunion between Ross and Rachel—the first on-screen since the tragic passing of Matthew Perry in October 2023.

Playing into the recollection messaging, Schwimmer and Aniston spend the advertisement’s run time playing out the uncomfortable experience of running into someone you vaguely recollect yet can’t place. “Jen! Hey!” Schwimmer calls out to Anniston across a studio lot, before she blocks his embrace with an UberEats bag. “Have we met?” she hilariously asks. “Give me a hint,” she presses, to which Schimmer replies, “Worked together for ten years.”

Showing off the chemistry that made their relationship so beloved, Anniston responded with a charlatan, “Ten years! Wow, you were great!” “You still don’t know, do you,” Schwimmer jokes as Anniston walks away muttering to herself that she wouldn’t forget ten years of her life. He’s her lobster..? Right?

Joining the Friends alumni are our favourite husband-and-wife duo, David and Victoria Beckham. Continuing to poke fun at her forgetfulness—as seen in the recent Beckham documentary when Victoria forgot her upper-class status and spawned a thousand memes of David telling the designer to not lie—Victoria’s former career as a pop sensation is under fire this time.

As the couple unpack their UberEats order from their Holland Park home, the couple riffs on Victoria’s feigning ignorance of her time in the Spice Girls since rebranding herself as a fashion mainstay. “Remember when you used to be a pepper lady?” David asked. Victoria mocked herself (all the while wearing a white shirt reading “David’s Wife” à la her “My Dad Drives A Rolls Royce” tee) by responding, “Wasn’t it the cinnamon sisters?” The pair drew the line at “Paprika Girls,” though, saying that was absurd.

The commercial ends with Usher wishing he could play a half-time show someday, cracking a quip about his upcoming Super Bowl performance. The moral of the story? Work so hard that you make it onto an UberEats commercial—may these silly little ads be the barometer in which all celebrity cameos are measured.
