Britney Spears has been all over the headlines recently due to the public finally finding out the conditions of her 12-year conservatorship, which the pop star deems “abusive.” But despite a tense ongoing legal battle with her family, Spears might have cause for celebration: in new photos, the 39-year-old is pictured with what looks like a diamond ring on her left finger, prompting many to question whether she’s newly engaged to her boyfriend of five years, Sam Asghari.

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Spears is seen going through a drive-through with Asghari by her side. In the images, a prominent, glimmering diamond is seen on Spears’ engagement finger, leading fans to wonder if the pop star may have become secretly engaged to the male model and personal trainer during their recent Hawaiian holiday.

Spears and Asghari first started dating back in 2016 after meeting on the set of her ‘Slumber Party’ music video. Since then, the pair have been almost inseparable—living together in Los Angeles, posting loved up videos and photos to social media, and travelling the world, most recently to Hawaii following Spears’ emotional court testimony to have the conservatorship over her life and finances removed.

Back in 2019, Ashgari told Entertainment Tonight he absolutely sees a future with Spears and intends to marry her one day. “This is something that every couple should do. That’s the whole point of a relationship—we are a family,” he said at the time. “Trust me, if we do ever get married, everybody’s going to know.”

Asghari has been a vocal supporter of Spears as she battles to remove her father, Jamie Spears, from the helm of her 12-year conservatorship and bring an end to the legal arrangement controlling her life. The 27-year-old has often taken to social media to show support for his girlfriend and the #FreeBritney movement, publicly blasting Spears’ father on Instagram and wearing a #FreeBritney T-shirt ahead of the pop star’s public court appearance last month.

During Spears’ speech in court, she revealed her desire to ultimately have another child, but said that she isn’t allowed to remove her IUD birth control per the constraints of her conservatorship.

Following Spears’ pleas, a judge ruled for her to be able to pick her own lawyer for the case, for which she trusted attorney Mathew Rosengart. Yesterday, Rosengart said he and his team are working “aggressively” to remove her father as conservator of her estate.

“As I said in court last week and outside, my firm and I are moving aggressively and expeditiously to file a petition to remove Jamie Spears unless he resigns first,” Mathew told reporters outside a Los Angeles courthouse on July 19, following a brief court appearance.

“I once again want to thank Britney Spears for her courage and for her strength,” he said. “I want to thank Judge [Brenda] Penny for her courtesy in welcoming my firm and I into this case.”

The lawyer, who was hired last week, added, “And I also want to thank Britney Spears fans and supporters. The outreach and support for my firm, myself and most importantly Britney has truly been overwhelming from coast to coast and literally throughout the world.”
