Iris Law has once again turned heads on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival and not solely for her perfect choice of Dior dress. Look a little closer and you’ll see that the model slash actress daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost has taken some creative liberty to her brow art, shaving several wedges into both of her eyebrows.
Added was bleached hair parted down the middle, and Law looks every bit the skater chick chic as she attended the screening premiere for Les Amandiers (Forever Young). Paired with a braided black Dior mini set from the Fall 2022 collection, the two-piece creation consisted of a corset-style top attached to a pleated skirt. Risqué? Perhaps, but it is the perfect disruption to the often so-flawlessly-glamorous-it-can-be-a-bit-dry sense of style adopted by the other stars attending the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. It’s also a look that highlights the changing perception of luxury wear entirely – tradition be damned, it’s a dress to be noticed in.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Law has stepped outside the boundary of expectations when it comes to fashion at Cannes. Last year, the 21-year-old star was almost unrecognisable after she shaved and bleached her usually brown hair, arriving at the premiere of The French Dispatch starring Timothée Chalamet and Tilda Swinton. Law also chose Dior for that style debut, a white Grecian gown at the opposite end of the style spectrum of this year’s almost punk-like persona. We love a versatile queen.
In an interview with WWD, Law explains that she’s become a lot more confident with her fashion as she’s got older.
“I just try to follow my gut and wear clothes that make me happy,” she told the publication. Of course, when you’re the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most consistently listed “most stylish” men, and London It Girl Sadie Frost, you’re bound to have an innate knack for knocking a look out of the park.
