Rumours have long followed Hunter Schafer and musician Rosalía‘s relationship status. As the pair appeared to be enjoying a strictly platonic dynamic, they deftly evaded queries. But as Schafer has now revealed, the two actually were a thing for five months back in 2019.
Opening up about her love life in a new interview with GQ, the The Hunger Games star explained she had spoken to the Spanish singer and received the greenlight to share the truth.
“It’s been so much speculation for so long,” Schafer said, admitting that the former couple have previously been keen to protect their privacy. “Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s fu**ing business!’”
“It’s something I’m happy to share. And I think she feels that way too.”
As the interview notes, it apparently took a while for Schafer, 25, to determine that her ‘hangs’ with Rosalía, 31, were actually dating. No reason was provided as to why the romance fizzled out, but the duo remain good friends.
“I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with,” Schafer told the outlet, adding that her former flame would be “family no matter what.”
The actress also confirmed that she is currently single and is not looking to change that anytime soon.
Schafer most recently dated her Euphoria co-star Dominic Fike, while Rosalía has been romantically linked with The Bear star Jeremy Allen White.
