When Virginie Viard sent Chanel’s autumn winter ’20 collection down the runway at the Grand Palais back in March, one thing was immediately obvious: the sheer logo tights worn by models like Gigi Hadid and Anna Ewers, were going to explode all over Instagram. Now it’s six months on, and explode they have.

In fact, Chanel’s logo tights has gone on to become the defining accessory of 2020—appropriate, as they are, for both social media showboating and lounging around during lockdown. Among the many devotees of the trend are Insta It-girls like Pernille Teisbaek, Blanca Miro, Loulou de Saison and Camille Charriere—all of whom have showed off various outfits, wearing both the black and white iterations.
