Byredo Desert Dawn EDP $342 for 50mL SHOP NOW

“I am very picky when it comes to fragrances. Even when I prematurely nab one that I think has potential, we end up losing the spark pretty quickly, leaving me with one more bottle relegated to the back of the shelf and a little hole in my heart. For this reason, I’ve decided to really sit with a fragrance. Testing it and getting it to know it before making things official. Well, it’s safe to say that I’m off the market for my seasonal (if not forever) signature, thanks to Byredo (once again). The perfumer’s newest arrival is a beautifully balanced combination that opens with the sweet spices of cardamom and wood-forward notes. Then, the enveloping warmth of sandalwood and cedarwood forms a powerful heart, while the rich smokiness of vetiver and silk musk is enlivened by the crisp, clean scent of carrot and rose petals. Particularly with summer just around the corner, this spritz was meant for me.” — Pema Bakshi, Fashion features editor

“Come the warmer months, much of my attention goes to hosting, with visions of garden parties and impeccably crafted charcuterie boards coming to mind. Louis Vuitton’s emblematic Monogram Flower is realised as a tourbillon of hand-blown glass from in Murano, and come in a striking array of colour variations.” — Pema Bakshi, Fashion features editor

Chanel Enchanted Night Eyeshadow and Face Palette, $142 SHOP NOW

“With the festive season just a stone’s throw away in our calendars, we’re starting to see some gifts come in early. Namely, the Chanel Beauty Holiday collection, which just dropped to inspire some of your greatest gifts and party looks. Developed by radical makeup artist Valentina Li—one-third of Chanel Beauty’s Cometes Collective—the range brings an enchanting warmth to the holidays. Choosing just one thing from the set is near-impossible, as I’ve already become smitten with a host of products, but this versatile palette from the range particularly drew my magpie eye due to its iridescent shades that begged to be experimented with. To make things sweeter, its formulation is as buttery, soft, and blendable as the rest of the brand’s powder offerings.” — Pema Bakshi, Fashion features editor

“I was generously gifted this laptop sleeve and as a writer, I couldn’t be more grateful. Roseblood d’Estoublon Rosé 2023, 750ml, $50 SHOP NOW

“Roseblood, the celebrated rosé collection from the historic Château d’Estoublon, has good timing: It’s arrived in Australia this month just in time for silly season. The brand is the brainchild of the former First Lady of France and supermodel Carla Bruni Sarkozy, as well as other families deeply rooted in the luxury and wine industries. Now, a blend coming from the best terroir in the Coteaux Varois en Provence Vineyards: Roseblood. Elegant, pale in colour and with hints of peach and melon, it’s one to try or gift this Australian summer.” – Jessica Bailey, Editorial director

‘Saturday Night’, directed by Jason Reitman

“Tangled with stellar performances by the next generation of Young Hollywood (Gabriel LaBelle! Rachel Sennott! Cooper Hoffman! Kaia Gerber!), incredible 70s-soaked visuals shot on 16mm film and the quippiest dialogue we’ve seen in a while, Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night is a delicious and joyful ode to the night that shaped culture forever. Told over the 90 minutes before the airing of the first episode of NBC’s Saturday Night, the film is a raucous love letter to comedy and creativity. With a crew in open rebellion, actors with egos as big as their dreams to make people laugh, substances being passed through the halls and llamas lining the corridors, Saturday Night will make you long for a time we can no longer return to while laughing at—and with—the ragtag cast.” — Ava Gilchrist, Senior fashion features writer

papa salt paloma can
PAPA SALT PALOMA CANS, $27 for 4-PACK SHOP NOW

“Just in time for the sunny season, Papa Salt and Capi have teamed up to gift us the canned Paloma, a sun-drenched reimagination of what the classic cocktail can be. Swapping tequila for Papa Salt’s silky Byron Bay-distilled gin sounded controversial, but this effervescent refreshment is delightfully crisp, citrus-forward thanks to a bitter-sweet grapefruit, and (most importantly) takes the guesswork out of your next backyard BYO.  If summer had an official drink, this Paloma would be its Cheers to that.” —Pema Bakshi, fashion features editor

Estée Lauder Estee Legacy Eau de Parfum Spray, 100ml, $485 SHOP NOW

“In September, Estée Lauder released The Legacy Collection, a reinvention of five of the brand’s most iconic scents, reimagined by world-renowned perfumer Frédéric Malle. Of the five, my favourite is a tie between Estée Legacy and Private Collection, the former perhaps edging out its competition ever so slightly. Estée Legacy is this intoxicating floral, musky cocktail. It reminds me of a scent my mum would wear when I was young. But with a base of sandalwood and with notes of honey, it’s modern and sweet.” – Jessica Bailey, Editorial director

The Life Of Sutton, by James Leonard SHOP NOW

“Who hasn’t been heartbroken and booked a trip overseas? I certainly have. In this coming-of-age novel, from new author James Leonard, Charlie Sutton does just that. The year is 2004 and the 26-year-old protagonist is emotionally wrecked post his breakup with his fiancée. Operating at the exact degree of recklessness, Charlie embarks on a journey of self-discovery across the world; Los Angeles, Montana, New York, Paris, Stockholm, Bali, the list goes on. It’s smart, amusing, sexy and entirely relatable. Out November 1.” – Jessica Bailey, Editorial director

Lee Mathews, Polly Cardigan in straw, $449 SHOP NOW

“This resort season at Lee Mathews, Louise Bourgeois is a muse. Illustrations inspired by the French American artist are boldly patterned across shirts and dresses. There are also some beautiful knitted pieces, like this collared cardigan spun with a textured yarn. It’s perfect for the trans-season and, like so many other pieces in this collection which I had the pleasure of viewing some time ago, on my shopping list.” – Jessica Bailey, Editorial director
