There have been rumours brewing for a couple of weeks that former supermodel Gisele Bündchen and NFL star Tom Brady may have split. The couple married in 2009 and share two beautiful children, son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9. At least from afar it was the dream relationship and we’d be shocked to learn that they’re divorcing. Thus far, an insider for Page Six says those rumours are not true, although “it could be heading that way”.

So how did this all come about?

According to a source for the aforementioned publication, the couple had an “epic fight” last week over Brady’s decision to un-retire from the NFL. “There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids,” the insider said. “They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”

Rumours of retirement loomed last month after the athlete reportedly missed 11 days of training. When pressed about the subject Brady said at the time, “It’s all personal … everyone’s got different situations they’re dealing with. We all have really unique challenges to our life. I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of s–t going on.”

Following the fight, Bündchen allegedly left their Tampa, Florida home and travelled to Costa Rica, expectedly for some alone time. Overnight Page Six reported that the 42-year-old has since returned to the US to see her children, however it is believed she is staying in Miami.

“She flew back to Florida to be with her kids but hasn’t been to their home in Tampa,” another source told the publication. “Tom is still hoping they can reconcile. Gisele has told him she’s leaving him before, and they always made up when she cooled down.”

2022 has seen many longtime celebrity couples split including Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet who shocked the world with a divorce earlier this year.
