Alongside Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima, Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen was part of an elite cohort of supermodels during the early oughts. Throughout her early career she walked for the likes of Fendi, Miu Miu and Valentino before she was named a Victoria’s Secret angel, thus becoming one of the highest paid models in the world.

In a new interview with Forbes Brazilthe 41-year-old explained that despite her earlier success she’s feeling better in her 40s than she did in her 20s. “As I matured, I came to understand that the body is our temple and everything we eat, how often we exercise and especially our thoughts affect our health,” Bündchen explained to the publication.

In addition to a balanced diet and regular exercise, the model says a healthy mindset contributed to a better quality of life. “Watching thoughts and consuming positive content are essential things to keep our energy frequency high and have a better quality of life,” she added.

It wasn’t until 2017 that Bündchen lost top spot as the highest-paid model in the world, only dethroned by Kendall Jenner. She married NFL star Tom Brody in 2009 and has two children, Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9.

The sentiment rings true to Jennifer Lopez who told US Weekly in 2015 that she feels stronger at 50. “I see pictures of myself in my twenties and go ‘Oh, I look better now!’ I embrace who I am. I feel sexy, I feel youthful, I feel pretty sometimes,” she said.

Not only does she also have healthy habits such as 8-10 hours of sleep each night and avoids caffeine and alcohol, the pop star makes sure to count her blessings. “I am youthful and timeless. I tell myself that every day, a few times a day,” Lopez told Harper’s Bazaar in a previous interview. It sounds like clichéd bullshit, but it’s not: age is all in your mind. Look at Jane Fonda.”
