Supermodel Gigi Hadid spent her entire pregnancy in lockdown with her family in Pennsylvania, which means the world was robbed of six months of slick, elevated maternity style. Thankfully, post-birth, Hadid is making up for lost time with a slew of super-chic off-duty ensembles, as she takes her newborn daughter out for daily walks in New York City. First, there was her head-to-toe black moment, as she and sister Bella Hadid took a walk (stroller in tow) through SoHo. Now, she’s stepped out in a tonal beige ensemble, topped off with a particularly fetching shearling bucket hat by Louis Vuitton.
The full look included stone-wash wide-leg vintage jeans, chunky Doc Marten boots, and an ankle-skimming ribbed cardi-coat by Thom Browne (eagle-eyed Gigi fans will recognise the coat from almost two years ago, when she wore it out in New York City in January 2019). Hadid finished off the outfit with a cream silk shirt and camel-toned gloves—the final look being a masterclass in nonchalant tonal dressing, made all the more impressive when you factor in the fact that New York is currently in the midst of a pre-Christmas snow storm.
Hadid gave birth to her daughter—her first child with musician partner Zayn Mailk—this September, with the couple revealing the news with adorable matching social media announcements. Hadid kept the details of her pregnancy relatively private, but has been sharing more behind-the-scenes pictures since giving birth. The couple are still yet to reveal what they named their daughter, though fans recently became convinced that Taylor Swift dropped the name (Dorothea) in a track off her new album, Evermore.
Want to copy Hadid’s statement-making Louis Vuitton headwear yourself? You’re not alone. The winter-appropriate bucket hat has been ubiquitous in 2020, from Kendall Jenner’s fuzzy black number, through to Bella Hadid’s ’90s-esque geometric printed take. With playful creations by the likes of Fendi, Loewe and Paco Rabanne on the market right now, it’s almost rude not to. Shop our edit below.
