Since confirming the news on a virtual appearance with talkshow host Jimmy Fallon, Gigi Hadid has kept her pregnancy mostly to herself (and rightly so). There was an Instagram live where she discussed the fact her face had looked fuller since becoming “preggo” and a Tweet where she clapped back at the media for accusing her of “hiding” her bump, but otherwise, it’s been a mostly private affair between her, boyfriend Zayn and close family.
But on an Instagram Live yesterday to promote her journal with V Magazine, Gigi responded to the steamy stream of comments asking her about the pregnancy, opting to unbutton her green check PJ shirt by Australian label Holiday, giving followers a look at her growing baby bump.
Speaking to followers, Hadid addressed rumours that she has been trying to hide her bump at all:
“Like it’s there, it’s just from the front it’s different,”That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends,” she shared. “Obviously a lot of people have lost lives due to [the] coronavirus that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening. And then we moved obviously into the reemergence of the BLM movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that.”
She also discussed her plans to stay mostly quiet, and given she’s experiencing her first pregnancy during a pandemic, a social movement and in the public eye, we don’t blame her.
“I just am not rushed to do it, and I feel like right now I just want to experience it, and I write in my journal a lot, and I just don’t want to worry about waking up everyday during my pregnancy and like worry about having to like look cute or post something,” she told her followers.
As expected, the comments blew up – mostly with excitement for Gigi and her boyfriend Zayn on their impending new arrival. Gigi is allegedly due in September, and while she hasn’t shared the sex officially, reports indicate the pair are expecting a girl.
