Gigi Hadid is taking her latest job very seriously. The model, who would usually be in Paris right now for fashion week, instead skipped the fashion month circuit to focus on promoting the second season of Netflix’s Next In Fashion.
The designer competition show originally aired over three years ago with Queer Eye‘s Tan France and Alexa Chung signed on as hosts. In January 2022, it was announced Hadid would be taking over Chung’s role for the second instalment, which is finally now about to drop on the streaming service.
Ahead of making her debut on-screen, Hadid has been taking a leaf out of her friend Blake Lively’s book: using the opportunity of the press tour to wear a slew of iconic outfits in a nod to the show. And by a slew, we mean a total of seven looks in a 36-hour timeframe, breaking Lively’s record of five ‘fits in one day.
With the help of stylist Elizabeth Sulcer, who has clearly been working overtime, Hadid went from baggy jeans and a tee to a polished Brandon Maxwell short suit and a knitted Valentino moment paired with a pencil skirt and red pumps, before amping up the sex appeal in Saint Laurent, Mugler and, later, a top-to-toe leather moment in Alexandre Vauthier Couture.
You’d think Hadid would be done for the day, but not before she walked the streets in an Alexander McQueen gown, matching both her lipstick and her pumps to the dress’s red visuals.
The next morning, she was back at it, stepping out of her hotel in an oversized white blazer paired with matching white leggings and ballet flats — the entire look by Berlin-based brand Malaikaraiss — before changing into a column dress in shades of orange, green and blue, paired with a bright red lip.
As well as having Hadid on screens for the first time, we’ll get a slew of famous faces popping by as guest judges on Next in Fashion, including Hadid’s younger sister, Bella, Hailey Bieber, Emma Chamberlain and Helena Christensen, and designers Olivier Rousteing, Isabel Marant and Donatella Versace.
With that line-up and Hadid’s wardrobe sure to be giving every single episode, Next in Fashion can’t come soon enough.
