One is arguably the biggest celebrity model of the past thirty years. The other two are the biggest male and female model drawcards in the world right now. Together, they’re making the marketing department at Stuart Weitzman’s commercial dreams come true.

Gigi Hadid, who has starred solo for the previous four seasonal campaigns, is joined by Katherine (aka Kate) Moss for the Stuart Weitzman Spring/Summer 2018 advertising imagery, shot by (currently scandal-embroiled) fashion photographer Mario Testino.

The images are world firsts given the 22- and 43-year-old models have never been officially photographed together before.

In another first for the brand, a shoe-less male model – Australian Jordan Barratt – appears in the images too. And while his inclusion sprawled across the floor at their feet might leave some scratching their heads as to why, given the brand makes women’s footwear and bags only, the creative merit is pretty patent.

In fact, so distracting is the appearance of all three aesthetically blessed blondes together, it’s easy to forget the point of the whole exercise is to sell footwear. (Shoes? What shoes?)

More enthralling still is this one-minute behind-the-scenes video GRAZIA’s acquired (see below) where Hadid and Moss are asked the same innocuous questions. They might both know the view from the top of the modelling world and even look similar (two decades apart in age), but it’s clear their personalities couldn’t appear more different.

What’s the first thing you do when you arrive on set, they’re both asked? “Give lots of hugs,” says Hadid.

“Get coffee,” fires back a true-to-party-reputation Moss.

What was their most memorable supermodel moment to date? “My first Vogue cover,” says Kate, who certainly had a plethora of past adventures to pick from. Hadid’s answer? “I guess shooting today with Kate is pretty awesome,” she said. (Something Barratt, who’s a friend of the original Super and regular FROW buddy, would no doubt vouch for too.)

So, about those shoes the whole Super soiree is supposed to revolve around? According to these snaps, Weitzman’s boot of the season – called the Expert – is a motorcycle style with a feminine twist. Structured in smooth leather and tapered at the toe, it probably says horse (riding) more than horse-power.

The other take-home from the campaign’s hero styles? Spring 2018 is the season of the 80s-throwback white shoe – a la the stiletto or slide Iris style – complete with pimped-up bedazzling. You’ve been warned.
