For Chanel’s SS22 pre-collection, the French luxuriate has tapped French singer, songwriter and composer Izïa Higelin as the face of the campaign.
Higelin — who is known for her powerful stage presence and mesmeric melodies — captures the essence of the collection by way of short film. Directed by Chanel ambassador Caroline de Maigret, the joyous, lighthearted campaign video shows Higelin surrounded by guitars, pianos, amplifiers and leather sofas — as if she is in the recording studio.
“CHANEL has a rock edge, in all the ways that rock can be so chic, and that’s what I liked about this collection. I didn’t think I would have such an easy time moving about in these clothes. It was really lovely to embody these pieces,” Higelin shared in a press release.

Higelin wears pieces from the SS22 collection, most notably multicoloured cotton tweed, black leather embellished with metal eyelets and a floral printed cashmere sweater. The looks are only surpassed by Higelin’s beaming smile, nonchalant makeup and perfectly tousled French girl hair.

The short film is also accompanied by an interview with de Maigret, where the two CHANEL muses discuss the collection, their inspirations, and the shared nuances between music and fashion.
