First Gigi, then Charlize, now Florence. The red hair trend has been slowly sweeping the tresses of Hollywood stars all year, and now everyone’s favourite It girl Florence Pugh has succumbed. The actor revealed the vivid colour by posting a picture to her Instagram page, where her newly-cherry locks were clearly visible.
Wearing a Beetlejuice-esque ensemble of black and white pinstripe pants, fluffy dark coat and chunky heeled boots, Pugh paired her new red hair colour with matching bright red lipstick. Her locks were styled straight and loosely pushed back, allowing all the focus to fall on her fiery fresh tresses.
The change was such a departure from Pugh’s usual beauty repertoire that many were initially convinced that the colour wasn’t her own, guessing instead that it was the result of a wig, or a temporary colour that could easily wash out.
But Pugh proved her red locks are here to stay (for now, at least) by posting another shot of her hair to her Instagram Story.
While the hair is decidedly less “cherry” than Pugh’s original post, her hair retains a distinct copper tone – not unlike Gigi Hadid’s current hue, which the supermodel has been rocking since March.
Pugh is no stranger to hair transformations, having switched up her colour and style a number of times this year. She traded in her signature blonde tresses for a rich brunette colour to film Netflix’s The Wonder.
Not long after, she cut off her lengthy locks in favour of a shaggy wolf cut, and now it appears the star has gone even shorter, with a chin-length bob that shows off her chic red colour.
