Just six weeks after it was announced that Jacob Elordi would front Elvis Presley in an upcoming biopic, we’ve received a sneaky first look at the upcoming movie. In images obtained by E! Newsthe actor was photographed in costume alongside his co-star Cailee Spaeny who will play the titular role of Priscilla Presley in Sofia Coppola’s new movie, Priscilla.

The Euphoria alum was papped wearing a dusty blue three-piece suit in one photo and in another, tiny shorts and a striped shirt. The actor rocked jet black locks not dissimilar to the King of Rock, while Spaeny wore two ’60s-inspired dresses and a voluminous wing. It’s not exactly the transformation we had hoped for following his predecessor, Austin Butler. However, we expect a different style of film.

According to Deadlinethe forthcoming production is based on the New York Times best-selling 1985 memoir Elvis and Me by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley. The couple met when Priscilla was just 14. They were married for six years before they divorced in 1967. For Coppola – known for directing Marie Antionette and The Virgin Suicides  – it reportedly serves as a follow up to her latest movie, On The Rocks.

Elordi first got his start in Hollywood after appearing in the cult Netflix franchise The Kissing Booth followed by the HBO hit, Euphoria. He later appeared in the the divisive thriller Deep Water alongside Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas. It seems he was always destined to play Presley after he dressed up as the rock icon for a Halloween costume alongside former girlfriend, Kaia Gerber.

The actor announced the new role in a rare Instagram post last month simply captioning an old photo of Elvis, “E”.

Stay tuned for further updates.
