As part of its ongoing new concept series, luxury e-tailer FARFETCH has looked to the sunny skies of Los Angeles, tapping cult streetwear brand Palm Angels to create a new and customisable version of their cult ‘University’ sneakers.

For its seventh iteration of FARFETCH BEAT, wherein the global platform introduces exclusive products to its site that are unavailable to shop anywhere else, Palm Angels Creative Director, Francesco Ragazzi, created new versions of the brand’s most popular shoe in four different colourways.

The sneaker, which was designed in the same timeless silhouette as a classic American college shoe while tying in vintage skate aesthetics, now comes in limited edition colourways with customers able to personalise each pair with different sneaker charms to create their own one-off designs.

Each pair of sneakers comes complete with a unique tote bag featuring a photo from Palm Angels’ original photography book, a choice of sneaker charms, and an exclusive invite to attend Palm Angels’ first Paris Fashion Week show taking place in March.

“For this project, I wanted to literally bring the customers into our world,” Ragazzi said of the collection. “The idea behind the University sneaker was to design a shoe that perfectly merged the sense of freedom typical of skate culture with the sports aesthetics of the 1980s,” he added. “The sneakers are the brand’s ultimate iconic shoe. I hope customers will enjoy them as much as I did designing them.”

The limited edition drop is available exclusively on FARFETCH now.
