The first Monday of May is fast approaching with the extravagant Met Gala set to returning to normal scheduling for the first time since 2019. On May 2, celebrities will line the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City and with more information about the annual soirée trickling in each day, we’ve compiled a cheat sheet on everything you need to know.
What is the 2022 Met Gala theme?
This year’s Met Gala theme serves as a sartorial sequel to part one of the In America exhibition – an homage to American style. Aptly titled Part Two: An Anthology of Fashion, the theme explores individual designers and dressmakers who worked in the United States from the 19th to the mid-late 20th century. So expect vintage revivals and reimagined styles from familiar designers.
who will host the 2022 Met Gala?
Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda were recently announced as this year’s co-chairs. In addition, Tom Ford, Adam Mosseri and Anna Wintour will continue their role as honorary co-chairs for the event.
WHO IS ATTENDING the 2022 Met Gala?
An official guest list has not be revealed nor will we likely know the full extent of this year’s attendees until the day. Regular guests include the Hadid sisters (although Bella was absent last year), Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Billy Porter and the Kardashian’s. It is rumoured that Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian may make their red carpet debut at the 2022 Met Gala. Other celebrity couples we hope to see include Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum as well as Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.
