Just like you and I, actress Maude Apatow – the eldest daughter of Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann –  is prone to breakouts which she said became more severe during the filming of Euphoria. Appearing in a new interview, the 24-year-old who plays Lexi Howard in the series revealed that the more makeup she was forced to wear, the worse her skin appeared.

“I was shooting ‘Euphoria’ a couple months ago and I got three gigantic zits on my forehead — you couldn’t cover them, they were so big,” she recalled. And they stuck out.” According to Apatow, she urged director Sam Levinson to “be careful with the lighting.”

To quell the erratic breakouts, the actress was careful to remove all of her makeup at the end of the day and was forced to refrain from picking. No matter how satisfying it may be. “I definitely learned not to pick my skin because it spreads,” she said. “I never believed that when people told me that. Then I learned that if I pop zits, they travel.”

It helps to have a powerful skincare routine too which Apatow has rounded down to just four (4!) steps. She preps her face using the Nu-Derm Toner and IDR Exfoliating and Hydrating Lotion by Obagi Medical, alongside Jillian Dempsey Hydrating Eye Masks and VI Derm SPF 50 Daily UV Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen.

Her simple skincare routine is then followed by a trip to the makeup trailer on the set of Euphoria which is colloquially named “Sephoria” by the cast. The makeup looks on the hit HBO series are so popular that the beauty team is releasing a makeup line (run, don’t walk).

Sydney Sweeney also revealed her simple skincare routine last week which happens to be eerily similar to Cassie’s on-screen 4am skincare spiral – sans the manic.
