By popular demand, Melbourne’s world first festival devoted entirely to celebrating the true opiate of the masses, the espresso martini, has added another day after selling out in a number of minutes. Twice.

The solution? A third afternoon (on Friday November 4) spent exploring the origins and celebrating the improbable devotion and reverence with which this humble cocktail is now treated the world over.

Buoyed by the passion of the event’s founders Tom Baker and Philip Moore of Mr Black Spirits Co, the Festival of the Espresso Martini will enlist specialty coffee roasters, bars and coffee shops and food trucks from across the country to come together for three days of tutorials, tastings and coffee pong in occasion not only of the caffeinated cocktail, but the humble bean to which the city owes so much.

Taking place at the Melbourne Meat Market from Friday November 4-6, tickets for the third day of the Festival of The Espresso Martini will go on sale Wednesday October 19 at 12pm for $25. There’s a waitlist too, should you wish to register your interest in advance. You can find out more information here.
