Since welcoming her first child, Sylvester Apollo Bear to world last August, Emily Ratajkowski says her ever-evolving personal style has shifted. Aside from the occasional red carpet appearance, the new mother and model has swapped sky-high heels for sneakers in the ultimate bid for comfort. It is apt timing of course that the 30-year-old has been named the newest ambassador and creative collaborator of Superga.

“My personal style is always changing,” Ratajkowski explains to GRAZIA. “Right now, as a new mom, I choose comfort, which is why the Superga sneaker is the perfect fit for me.”

The model has become well known for off-duty style and effortless layering and often opts for oversized shirting, wide-shouldered blazers and low slung tailoring. While these style cues are synonymous, the best-selling author who lives between Los Angeles and New York City says she draws inspiration from women on the streets of Manhattan.

“My style is influenced by countless women! Sometimes it comes from a woman I see walking on the street in New York City and other times it comes from an old picture I’ll see online of Julia Roberts or Halle Berry in the 90s,” she says.

Her eye for great style is just one of the many reasons Ratajkowski has gone on to sit at the helm of her own brand, celebrity-endorsed swimwear label Inamorata. Using this experience, the arrival of Superga’s new campaign also features two classic silhouettes customised by the model. The 2750 canvas sneaker, a style that is the original Italian tennis shoe created more than 100 years ago, and the hiking-inspired 2636 Alpina now have off-white bindings and tubular laces and are finished with a co-branded collaboration patch on the inside of the show.

“Designing for and running Inamorata enhances my experience working with brands because I feel confident bringing my own expertise to the table,” the model adds. “Italy is one of my favourite places to visit in the world. Wearing Superga when I travel means that I feel comfortable and confident even when I’m far from home.”

The campaign was captured by the renowned Zoey Grossman at the iconic Milk Studios in LA while Ratajkowski was style by New York native Emma Morrison. Learn more about the collection, here.
