Since lockdown lifted in the US and beyond, people have quickly ditched the loungewear they’ve been living in for the past year and have begun dressing for the real world again. But after so long locked inside the house, many are finding figuring out what exactly to wear quite a difficult task.
Thankfully, that’s where Instagram influencers and celebrities come in, such as supermodel Elsa Hosk, who’s touched down in New York City with a suitcase full of summer ready looks.
In the image, Hosk wore a linen two-piece by Sydney-based Australian label Matin made up of a beige waistcoat and matching suit pants. Both the top and pants are still available to shop on the brand’s website, as is a matching suit jacket to finish off the look.
Recently everyone from Kendall Jenner to Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa have been spotted sporting waistcoats, but Hosk matching hers to her pants is the ultimate twist on the otherwise simple trend. To dress the outfit down, Hosk wore white adidas sneakers and oversized tortoiseshell sunglasses.
The next day, Hosk was pictured in Tribeca wearing another two-piece. This time, the Swedish supermodel wore a light pink skirt and blazer combo, paired with a white tee, Chanel loafers and white socks.
Last week, Victoria’s Secret, the brand which kickstarted Hosk’s modelling career, announced one of the biggest rebrands in recent memory. The US lingerie giant revealed it would be ditching its Angels—a slew of high-profile models (including Hosk) it works with and who walk every year during its runway extravaganza—and enlisting a VS Collective, instead.
The initial women announced as being part of the new Victoria’s Secret include actress Priyanka Chopra, soccer player Megan Rapinoe and Australia’s own supermodel Adut Akech.
Though it’s unclear whether it’s too little too late for VS, one thing we can thank the lingerie label for is introducing us to a slew of stylish women over the years, Elsa Hosk very much included.
