Dua Lipa may not have been a nominee at the 2022 Grammy Awards overnight, but she is a winner in our books. The “Levitating” star walked the red carpet last night wearing long blonde extensions and a 1992 bondage Versace gown – the exact same as Cindy Crawford 20 years earlier. It comes as no surprise that her after party fit was just as bold, with Lipa opting for the lingerie as outerwear trend.

On Instagram, the 26-year-old opted for a lacey corset mini dress layered atop of matching leggings and opera gloves courtesy of Balenciaga. The look was paired with a glitzy silver Hourglass XS bag, Led Frame sunglasses and diamond Bulgari Serpenti jewellery.

For eagled-eye fans it is of course reminiscent to a neon yellow catsuit she has often worn on her fashion fuelled “Future Nostalgia” tour from the same season.

Within the Instagram post Lipa also shared behind-the-scenes snaps from another look of the evening, a Fall 2022 Versace look which she matched with co-collaborator, Megan Thee Stallion. The musical duo were tasked with presenting Best New Artist at the ceremony – an award they’ve both won in the past – and in the process paid homage to an iconic ’90s moment.

The two pop stars took to the stage in the same ensemble. “You stole my look!”, Stallion quipped to Lipa. “I was told I had the exclusive,” the singer responded. “I’m going to have to have a talk with Donatella.”

The Italian designer took to the stage before ripping a little fabric from each gown to reveal a new style. Fans would recall that at the 1998 MTV VMAs, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey partook in a similar “diva off” which saw Carey alter her dress right on stage.

Simply iconic.

Lipa is preparing to take her North American tour around the world with the pop star slated to finally appear in Australia this October and November.
