The Don’t Start Now singer is known for her bold digits, opting for long length, stiletto shapes and Y2K trends like glitter, butterflies, and kaleidoscopic colour.

For the holidays, Dua has worked with renowned celebrity nail artist Mei to create a black base framed with glittering tinsel wrapped around (and a different colour on every nail, no less). While not traditionally Christmassy (there’s no candy cane stripes or baubles in sight), the finished look is pretty spectacular.
Mei is a Japanese technician who now works out of New York, known for an A-list client roster including Rosalia, Penelope Cruz and Blake Lively. She’s worked on countless ad campaigns for the likes of Miu Miu, Helmut lang and BluMarine, cementing herself as one of the coolest (and most talented) manicurists in the industry. Her wheelhouse is definitely graphic and futuristic, but she’s also great for classic styles such as a singular shade or a French tip.

Dua shared the post on stories with the caption, “it’s that time of year”, while Mei posted the finished look to her grid. It’s not the first time the pop star has sparked a beauty trend. The just-wrapped Future Nostalgia tour saw glitter liner, eye jewels and face crystals. Her long black mermaid waves have been a resounding favourite, too.
