It may come as a surprise to us mere normies, but celebrities, too, get celebrity crushes, and, it turns out, they also try their hand at a good old-fashioned DM slide in the process.
When it comes to Doja Cat, the singer apparently thinks Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn is cute – but, despite her being pretty candid with fans on social media, we weren’t meant to find out about her crush, and wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for Quinn’s co-star, Noah Schnapp.
In a now-deleted TikTok, Schnapp posted screenshots of his and Doja’s private conversation, in which the ‘Woman’ singer asked the teen to put her in contact with Quinn, asking at the same time whether the actor has a girlfriend. This is Quinn for context (it’s true, he’s cute!):
Doja wrote, “Noah can you tell Joseph to hmu? [hit me up]. Wait no. Does he have a girlfriend?”
Schnapp replied telling Doja to “slide into his DMs,” to which she said, “I don’t know his Instagram or Twitter. He doesn’t have a DM to slide in.”
Naturally, when shared online, the conversation quickly went viral, prompting Doja Cat’s name to trend on Twitter… and she really wasn’t very happy about it.
Going live on her TikTok account, Doja said Schnapp’s actions were “socially unaware,” adding, “that’s borderline snake s**t.”
“First let’s try to be chill about it,” she began. “To be fair, this is like a kid. I don’t know how old he is, but there’s no way he’s over 21.” (Schnapp is 17).
She continued, “When you’re that young, you make mistakes. You do dumb s–t. I’m trying to be super fair. You f–k up relationships with people, you make mistakes—like you’re supposed to so that you know not to do it in the future. I did my share of f–ked up so that I don’t f–k up again.”
“The fact that Noah did that, like, went and posted a private conversation between me and him is so unbelievably socially unaware and whack.”
The singer went on, “That’s borderline snake s**t, that’s weasel s**t. And I’m not saying that encapsulates his entire personality – like I don’t imagine Noah that way. Maybe he is, like, a whole snake. But I didn’t see him that way. I made an assumption that he was gonna be chill about it, and he went and shared information that I didn’t feel comfortable with him sharing.”
