If Cinderella found that her after-midnight-bedtime habit was starting to wreak havoc on her face, she should hit up Creative Image Director for Dior Make-up, Peter Philips for some eye brightening tips. Backstage at the Dior Haute Couture show, Philips followed through with the whimsical theme of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s fairytale-inspired collection by adorning the model’s eyes with scatterings of glitter and star-shaped sequins.

Aided by a soft sweeping of Dior’s cult Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer in 001 along the high points of the face, the delicately placed sequins caught the light as the models glided down the woodland-themed catwalk, proving to be the ultimate eye-opening trick.

As it turns out, the idea to use stars was plucked from Dior’s own archives. “The house of Dior has got a lot of superstitions, codes, lucky charms — all kinds of little symbols,” Philips told WWD. “So we took one of those lucky charms, which is a star, and brought it back in the makeup.

In keeping with the old fashioned feel, Redken’s Creative Director, Guido Palau used the classic tissue-set technique to create the romantic, pre-Raphaelite curls.
