Dakota Johnson is sounding the return of sequins in her latest appearance for Gucci. The actress was one of many from a dazzling, celebrity-fuelled guest list who attended the digital screening of Gucci Aria this week.

Johnson was captured on the virtual red carpet alongside Florence Welch, Lil Nas X and Anderson Paak. Standing in front of a lush garden wall, the 31-year-old was an absolute vision in a Gucci Ouverture lace jumpsuit , all-over sequin embroidered short sleeve cardigan and GG embroidered tulle underwear. The ensemble was the brainchild of Johnson’s stylist, Kate Young.

Less than 24 hours later, the Fifty Shades of Grey starlet served another Gucci ensemble, this time dressed head-to-toe in lurex and sequins. Her extremely fashionable cameo formed the first instalment in #GucciBeloved. The campaign features The Beloved Show, a playful ode to the Hollywood late-night talk show that shines the spotlight on an all-star lineup of celebrities and the Italian Maison’s range of signature handbags.

Hosted by none other than James Cordon, Johnson appeared as if she stepped out of the ’70s wearing a deep purple, pink and green sequin jumpsuit and short-sleeved cardigan. The look was paired with the cult Dionysus shoulder bag in the beige/ebony GG Supreme canvas.

Other stars to be featured will include Awkwafina, Diane Keaton, Sienna Miller, Harry Styles and Serena Williams.

Johnson has just been cast in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel, Persuasion. It has been described as “modern, witty approach” to the beloved story which tells the tale of Anne Elliot, an unconforming woman living with her snobby family on the brink of bankruptcy. Unmarried and 27-years-old, Anne reconnects with a man she was once persuaded to reject and faces a second chance at love.

Production for the film will begin in May.
