John Legend has revealed that he once tried to break up with Chrissy Teigen years before they were married – and her hilarious reaction.
“I was really stressed and busy,” John told The Guardian this week.
“I was just like ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like ‘No.'”
As she’s known to do, Chrissy took to Twitter after the story went viral to share a little more about the long-ago incident.
“11 years later, baby,” she tweeted (they’ve been together for more than a decade).
“It wasn’t a typical breakup,” she continued. “He was on tour and his voice hurt and he was being a whiny face about everything and so yeah, I was like ‘no.'”
After revealing he once tried to break up with his now wife, the All Of Me singer made up for it by gushing about what he loves about her.
“She pushes me to be funnier, not because she’s trying to, I think it’s just being around her. And to be bolder,” he said.
The couple are parents to Luna, one, and recently revealed they’re trying for more children via IVF.
