In news that will devastate anyone who avidly followed Chris Evans’ delicious thirst traps disguised as selfies with his dog, the actor has officially tied the knot. As per reports from Page Six, the Captain America star secretly married his Portuguese actress girlfriend, Alba Baptista, in an “intimate at-home wedding”.
According to the publication, Evans and Baptista exchanged vows in a secret ceremony at the pair’s Boston estate in the 42-year-old Massachusetts home town.
An insider with intel alleged that the ceremony was so covert that guests were required to sign NDAs and forfeit their phones for the “locked down tight” nuptials.
Naturally, this means that we have no further details about the reported ceremony, including whether any of Evans’ Avengers co-stars, including his long-term friend Scarlett Johansson, were by his side for the momentous occasion.
Though, it’s claimed that Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner, were all in attendance to witness the “beautiful” ceremony, as the source put it.
The report follows claims from anonymous gossip blogger, DeuxMoi, who alleged in a podcast released days before the news that Evans and Baptista threw an engagement party in the summer, placing his proposal in the first half of 2023.
“It has not been publicly confirmed by either of their representatives but I’m here to tell you, they are engaged. Their wedding is on the horizon, it’s going to happen very, very soon,” the real-life Gossip Girl claimed.
Coincidentally, this reported timeline also concurred with Evans’ deleting his social media accounts, opting for an Instagram-free summer.
Before swiping his online presence, Evans’ account was littered with hard launches of his and Baptista’s relationship, including photos of the pair from hiking adventures, Halloween and (much to the chagrin of Evans’ single fans), pictures of the pair kissing.
From a quick look through Baptista’s ‘tagged’ photos on her Instagram account, the NDAs must have been iron-clad as not one single person in attendance has done the newly-weds dirty by sharing any unapproved photos from their New England ceremony.
The wedding comes less than a year since the pair first began dating in November 2022. Here’s hoping that Evans’ puppy, a rescued Boxer mix named Dodger, served as ring bearer for the occasion.
