Cara Delevingne has been in the spotlight since she was a teenager, but she’s managed to keep her private life relatively quiet. Now, in a new interview, the supermodel and actress gets candid about the big questions fans have about her mental health struggles and, of course, her love life.

Speaking to ELLE, Delevingne shared a glimpse into her life with girlfriend Leah Mason, a musician who goes by the stage name: Minke. Though they were only first publicly linked back in January while snapped together on vacation, the 30-year-old confirmed earlier this year that they’ve been dating since early 2022.

As fate would have it, the two actually first met two decades ago in boarding school but reconnected at an Alanis Morissette concert.

Gushing about her current happiness, Delevingne credited Mason for encouraging her to connect with a wider queer community, an experience she missed out on during her early years. “My girlfriend has been really wonderful in introducing me to a lot of things and people,” she explained, adding that Mason, 31, was incredibly supportive of her sobriety.

She also praised her for being one of the reasons “2023 has been the best year I’ve had so far.”

“Being with my girlfriend, in this relationship, there are just so many things that came at once that have made me so happy and comfortable with who I am,” she said, calling Minke’s dildo drum performance at LA Pride “fan-tas-tic”.

Moving on from her twenties, Delevingne says she is entering a positive new era, mostly due to her nine-month-strong sobriety. Following viral paparazzi photos that seemed to show the actress in a bad spot, she voluntarily checked herself into rehab. When asked if she found it easy, the American Horror Story actress said, “It hasn’t, but there have never been moments when I’m like, ‘This isn’t worth it.’ It’s been worth every second. I just don’t know what it would take for me to give it up. I am stable. I’m calmer.”

Delevingne, who was pictured enjoying her girlfriend’s company at Wimbledon, admitted she has always wanted babies and might have plans to make it happen. “I’ve got my eggs to freeze. Stuff to figure out,” she told the outlet.
