Cara Delevingne has switched up her look, trading in her trademark long tresses for this season’s hottest hairstyle – the undone bob. The model enlisted renowned celebrity hairstylist Riawna Capri to lop off her lengths, resulting in the shortest style we’ve seen her sport in recent years.
Capri shared shots of Delevingne’s new cut to her Instagram, revealing that the star had also opted to lighten her previously bronde locks – courtesy of sought-after colourist Nikki Lee – to a beachy blonde hue with bright highlights ahead of the Northern summer.
Post-chop, the Only Murders In The Building actor’s wavy tresses now skim her shoulders, creating a fresh take on the ever-popular bob trend. Delevingne’s go-to red carpet hairstylist, Ryan Richman, styled the new cut with undone S-bends, shaped by a flat iron for an effortless air.
“I’ve always found that using styling tools in an unconventional way can give you so many amazing textures and results,” Richman told Allure of the look. “I’ve always loved the shape of [a flat iron] for creating beach waves. It has slightly squared off sides and just enough roundness on top to give you a really unique bend in the hair.”
Delevingne is the latest star to go the chop, following the likes of Hailey Bieber in choosing a shorter style for summer. While the bob has been a favoured cut in recent years, it’s sudden sharp rise amongst the Hollywood style set cements its place as the resurgent hair trend of the season.
The model is certainly no stranger to a hair transformation (who could forget her pastel pink and silver pixie crop from 2017?), but this might be our new favourite look on her.
