Following another win for the #FreeBritney Movement last week, it seems Britney Spears has another milestone to celebrate. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the pop star announced her engagement to long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari.

“I can’t f***ing believe it 💍💍💍💍💍💍❣️!!!!!!”, she wrote to social media.

Asghari also posted to Instagram.

Asghari’s manager, Brandon Cohen, confirmed the news to TMZ and revealed the ring was by jeweller Roman Malayev of Forever Diamonds in New York City. Cohen added, “The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them.”

On social media, Forever Diamond NY reflected on the detail that went into the design. Fittingly, it has been named ‘The Britney’ and features a 4 carat round brilliant stone in a platinum cathedral setting. The floating solitaire design is enhanced with pavé detailing on the bridge and flush set diamonds on the prongs and basket. A sentimental touch was added by engraving “Lioness,” Asghari’s personal nickname for Spears, on the inside of the band.

“The thought and detail Sam put into this ring made the design process so special for Roman and our team,” the brand posted to social media. “In honor of the Lioness herself, we are naming this gorgeous setting The Britney.

“Sam and Britney, we wish you a lifetime of happiness together and are honored to welcome you to the Forever Diamonds Family ❤️.”

The couple’s engagement has been a long time coming as the constraints of Spears’ controversial conservatorship prevented the pair from marriage.

Last week, Spears’ father and co-conservator Jamie Spears finally filed to end the conservatorship. In a petition filed to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Jamie Spears has complied with his daughter’s request. “As Mr Spears has said, again and again, all he wants is what is best for his daughter,” the document read. “If Ms Spears wants to terminate the conservatorship and believes that she can handle her own life, Mr Spears believes that she should get that chance.”

Judge Brenda Penny, who is overseeing Spears’ case, will now need to approve the request before the conservatorship can be officially ended.

Congratulations, Britney and Sam! Oh, we can’t wait to see the dress.
