They came (in tulle and sequins), they saw (some of the finest take the glory), they conquered (a year in fashion). The British Fashion Awards are all but over, however the Awards have confirmed, or rather, reconfirmed some truths in fashion for 2019.

Firstly, Bottega Veneta is the indubitable Grand Dame of fashion this year, winning all four of its nominated categories. The Italian house not only won the coveted Brand of the Year accolade, but Creative Director Daniel Lee also won the Designer of the Year award, the British Designer of The Year award – Womenswear, and the Accessories Designer of the Year award, proving that yes, Lee’s Bottega is not only a hit in consumer circles but in industry ones, too.

Long-time GRAZIA favourite, Rejina Pyo, took out the British Emerging Talent for Womenswear, while the inimitable Mr Giorgio Armani was honoured for his Outstanding Achievement (on the arms of Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchett nonetheless).

Locally, we also had something to be proud of. One of Australia’s finest fashion exports, Adut Akech, won Model of the Year, while the icon of all icons, Naomi Campbell, won Fashion Icon of the year (unsurprisingly).

A big night for all, a big night for fashion and a particularly big night for Bottega Veneta, see the full list of winners and honourees from The British Fashion Awards below.
