If you were to pick three words that sum up the mood of this collection – and probably the whole season for that matter – it’s this: satin, satin, satin.

Luxurious, delicious, sexy and just a tiny bit scandalous, its starring role in Tomas Maier’s Bottega Veneta AW18 womenswear range was somewhat of a departure for the usually understated super-luxe brand, but completely on the money.

So too did jewel tones rule in the collection that the designer says was inspired by the show’s host city, New York. Fitting then was American darling and NYC resident Gigi Hadid’s appearance to close the show, a touch of a young, hip and new to balance the storied history of the house.
