One such enthusiast? Bella Hadid, who shared her excitement about the “rare” astrological moment on Instagram. “Tonight, Dec 21st Jupiter and Saturn will align in a ‘great conjunction’ for the first time in 800 years! The two largest planets in our solar system will be seen as a single bright spot,” she wrote, adding that the conjunction can “encourage innovation for the greater good.”
She also shared one of her rather sizeable talismans for the occasion, while encouraging her followers to partake in a meditation on YouTube to prepare for the conjunction. “Take time to honor and acknowledge the endings and new beginnings in your life,” Hadid told her Instagram audience. “Centring yourself will open your mind to bigger dreams and the things you truly deserve.”
So what actually is this ‘Great Conjunction’ that all your astrologically-inclined friends are posting about? According to experts, it’s a planetary phenomenon that only occurs once every 20 years. The alignment of the planets Jupiter and Saturn is said to create an energy charge that has the power to significantly shift our political, social and personal circumstances.
Hadid got up at 6:23am to meditate and witness the “powerful energy”. She explained, “It’s a time of quiet energy, where you get the opportunity to look within yourself and focus on what you want and need. It’s a time to set goals and intentions for the coming year, to examine and let go of our past, and to make changes within ourselves.”
