It has been one year in the making but finally, the highly-anticipated television adaption of Dolly Alderton’s memoir Everything I Know About Love has seen a premiere in London overnight. Bel Powley, best known for her appearance in Morning Wars, was in attendance at the red carpet event in a blush pink Gucci moment.

In a fitting homage to Hollywood, the midi slip dress was pulled from the Gucci Love Parade collection but as stylist Cher Coulter explained in a prior interview, she removed the accompanying tiara and feather boa for a pared-back approach. “We’re going to BAFTA not Cannes,” she said. Instead, the ensemble featured purple silk opera gloves and silver platform heels.

Makeup was by Celia Burton and boasted the most perfect red lip alongside a baby pink eyeshadow. Hair was slicked into a ’90s-esque twisted bun by Halley Brisker.

Powley stars in Everything I Know About Love alongside Emma Appleton, Marli Siu, Jordan Peters, and up-and-coming stars Aliyah Odoffin, Connor Finch and Ryan Brown. Powley has previous starred in The King of Staten Island, Morning Wars and Ashes in the Snow.

For the uninitiated, the original 2017 memoir follows best friends Maggie and Birdy who finally land in London to live it large, when the unexpected happens – a dependable Birdy finds a steady boyfriend. “A generous, funny, warm-hearted and uplifting Sex & The City for Millennials which covers bad dates and squalid flat-shares, heartaches and humiliations, and, most importantly, unbreakable female friendships,” the synopsis reads.

The forthcoming BBC series will pull inspiration from the book to give an account of surviving your 20s.

For Australian viewers, you will be able to watch Powley in the romantic comedy from June 7 on Stan. Watch the newly-released trailer below.
