Born in 1989 and housed in Milan, Atelier Versace is an “experimental laboratory” for sartorial innovation. The artisans and dressmakers are behind iconic garments such as the vintage gown worn by Dua Lipa at the Grammy Awards and, the shape-shifting colour-changing gown of Blake Lively at the Met Gala. While Atelier Versace was founded in celebration of the brand’s origins – Gianni and Donatella’s mother, a dressmaker who passed on the family’s sartorial traditions from her studio – it has since formed the inspiration for a collection of exclusive fragrances.

In collaboration with EuroItalia, Versace has ushered in twelve new and luxurious fragrances ranging from fresh vivacious scents, to floral fragrances and more woody iterations.  The Cédrat de Diamante heroes notes of Italian lemon and grapefruit, Vanille Rouge encompasses the Madagascar vanilla while, as the name suggests, Jasmin au Soleil highlights jasmine flowers from India.

The collection is truly a world tour of scent but when it comes to the bottle, it is distinctly Versace. Like haute couture technique, the perfume is kept in entirely hand-made packaging. The lighter, fresher fragrances are stored in clear, transparent glassware, while the more intense scents boast sleek black bottles. The name of the fragrance is written in gold tone before it is finished with a handcrafted metal cap emblazoned with the signature medusa motif. The bottles are then packaged into paper boxes which also boast a mirror with the Versace logo.

The collection continues to pay homage to the brand’s Italian heritage by way of a campaign starring tailors from the atelier alongside models, and draws inspiration from Fall-Winter 1981 imagery captured by Richard Avedo. Like the exclusivity of a couture gown, Atelier Versace Fragrances is only made available from select retailers; Myer Sydney City, Myer Melbourne City, Myer Online and City Perfume.
