Ashley Graham just had a major Carrie Bradshaw moment.
Celebrating National Tequila Day at Clase Azul México in Brooklyn, the supermodel stepped out in a look perfect for traipsing around the city on a night out.
Styled by Emily Evans, Graham dressed up in an embellished mini dress by Clio Peppiatt. Titled the ‘Vic’, the dress features a completely hand-beaded newsprint in powder blue, silver and jet black, accented with a sparkling pearl and Swarovski trimmed neckline. Very extra.
She accessorised with Amina Muaddi ‘Gilda’ heeled sandals in black with crystal-adorned straps.
As for her beauty look, Graham gave fans a closer look on her Instagram. Keeping with the glamorous outfit, she wore her hair loose in sultry waves by Lacy Redway and opted for a latte-inspired makeup aesthetic by Katie Jane Hughes which included bronzed eyes and skin and a nude pout.
As Sex and the City fans may have already spotted, the model’s dress feels like a 2023 take on Carrie Bradshaw’s newspaper-printed number by John Galliano for Christian Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 collection.
In Season 3, episode 17 of the series, titled ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’, the writer struts through the streets of NYC wearing the head-turning look.
Sarah Jessica Parker then reprised the iconic dress for the film Sex and the City 2. The exact dress worn by the actress, which was a re-edition of the original, can be purchased from 1stDibs for the very modest price of…. $369,400.
While Carrie’s throwback style in a silk jersey draped fabric featured an asymmetrical hemline and gold chain straps, Graham’s bustier bodice and cropped hemline put a glitzy twist on the look. We love them both.
