When the reboot of Sex and the City, And Just Like That, began filming for its first season in New York City, it felt as though by the time the series debuted, we’d already seen almost all of the iconic outfits worn by the show’s main characters, Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Priestly and Charlotte York.

Despite the wardrobe spoilers — the best of which was no doubt Carrie smoking a cigarette wearing cleaning gloves and couture — the show still pulled SATC‘s fans in (despite its best efforts to alienate those very people by making Miranda fall in love with someone as unfunny and uncool as professional comedian Che Diaz).

Now that filming has begun for the second season, so too have the pap shots begun rolling in. The latest of which stopping even those fans of the franchise choosing to try to ignore the existence of And Just Like That: photos of Carrie on the steps of her iconic Greenwich apartment wearing her iconic Vivienne Westwood bridal gown from the first Sex and the City film. She was, of course, on her way to marry her longtime love, Big, who, instead, got cold feet and didn’t show up at the alter:

In these new images, taken 15 years apart, Carrie even rewore the infamous bird in her hair.

However, proving this isn’t a flashback scene, this time, she opted to accessorise with dramatic turquoise silk gloves that extend into an off-the-shoulder capelet, as well as pointed blue satin Manolo Blahnik heels. She also wore a different veil and her hair part-down instead of pulled fully back.

Fan account @EveryOutFitOnSATC was one of the first to share the return of the wedding dress, writing on Instagram alongside a photo of Sarah Jessica Parker leaving her trailer in the gown, “She put a bird on her head… again?! 🐦”

“This afternoon, SJP was photographed wearing Carrie’s iconic Vivienne Westwood wedding gown… but why? A flashback sequence, perhaps? A photoshoot with unintended Diane Arbus subtext? Only time will tell…”

Naturally, their legion of similarly obsessed fans quickly commented their thoughts, including, “It’s giving second wedding” and, “It can’t be a flashback can it? Why would she rewear this dress and the bird?? I am gobsmacked.” But mostly: “I NEED TO KNOW WHY.” Same, sis.

One thing’s for sure: season two can’t come soon enough.
