After 18 months at the mercy of global health restrictions, the 25th James Bond film No Time To Die has finally seen the silver screen. In London overnight the premiere opened to a star-studded guest list including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Billie Eilish and the cast; Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Phoebe Waller Bridge, Daniel Craig and Ana de Armas.

While the James Bond films are traditionally all about the men, the red carpet was all about the Bond girl. De Armas who plays Paloma in the highly-anticipated film attended the lavish soirée in custom Louis Vuitton. The gown featured a plunging neckline, thigh-high split and embellished straps. Diamonds were supplied by Chopard.

Her earrings featured brilliant pear-cut diamonds (totalling 26.78 carats), a ring featuring a marquise brilliant-cut diamond (totalling 9 cts) with further brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18-carat white gold. The actress added another ring featuring emerald-cut diamonds (7.45ct) set in Fairmined white gold, a pair of round brilliant solitaire earrings, and lastly a ring featuring diamonds in 18-carat white gold.

Her premiere style (what we expect to be the first of many around the world) seemingly paid homage to the women that went before her as well as her own wardrobe on the No Time To Die set. Think Lana Wood in Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and Barbara Beach in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) who similarly wore embellished straps on her own black gown.

Ahead of the premiere, de Armas spoke to Harper’s Bazaar on the film costuming.

“My wardrobe was very elegant but at the same time very simple,” the actress said. “We knew that the action was so intense that we had to be practical about it. We didn’t want to have anything that was too big, or dangerous for myself or someone else.”
