With three weeks to go until the US presidential election, it’s no surprise Amy Schumer – a vocal Hillary Clinton supporter – is getting political on her stand-up tour.

But some members of the 10,000 strong crowd at Schumer’s set in Tampa, Florida on Sunday night – around 200 people – walked out after the comedian slammed Donald Trump.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Schumer brought a Trump voter up on stage to ask him why he supports the Republican party leader.

“Do you get worried at all with how impulsive he is? That he gets so fired up from Saturday Night Live doing a skit on him … do you worry he’ll be impulsive and get us in a lot of f***ing trouble we can’t get out of?”

This fairly mild comment elicited boos from the crowd, to which Amy responded “Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo.”

The crowd reaction apparently encouraged Schumer to roast Trump even more, calling him an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.”

“You know what I love?” she continued. “A famous guy that will just take me furniture shopping and just straight up grab my p***y.”

After more booing ensued, she asked the audience members doing it to leave.

“I know you’re here to laugh, but you choose how you’re going to live your life, and it’s just too important,” she said. “Just so you know, from now on, if you yell out, you’re gonna get thrown out” prompting the walk out.

Later in the show the star, who has been the victim of sexual assault, asked audience members who’d survived sexual assault to stand up, and many did.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight about the walk out, Schumer had nothing but good things to say about the night.

“I loved the crowd and my show in Tampa last night! I want to thank the 8,400 people who stayed. We had a great time! We have always depended on comedians to make us laugh and tell the truth. I am proud to continue that tradition.”

Amy is bringing her stand-up tour to Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in December, by which time the White House will hopefully have its first female president, and this whole Trump thing will just feel like a really, really bad dream.
