It appears that everyone has something to add to the reunion of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck – from Matt Damon to Jennifer Lawrence. But of course it is ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez who has been notably quiet until now. Taking to social media overnight the former MLB player has responded to the developing ‘Bennifer’ news.
“I am about to step into a new beginning in my life,” Rodriguez wrote on Instagram stories. “Anything that doesn’t serve me is clearing out of my life. New energy is emerging. New levels are unlocking for me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I am remaining patient and know that this new phase of my life is coming.”
While the statement is oh so wholesome and positive (onwards and upwards I say) we can imagine it hurts nonetheless.
Lopez and Affleck were first spotted spending time with each other in Los Angeles in early May before jetting off on vacation to Montana. According to a source close to Rodriguez, the 45-year-old was “shocked” by the rekindled romance.
“A-Rod is shocked that J.Lo has moved on,” the source told E! News. “He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect. He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”
Matt Damon weighed in on the matter via an interview admitting, “It’s a fascinating story. I hope it’s true. I love them both. That would be awesome.”
In just one instalment of A-Rod’s “new phase of life”, the business man has announced his first foray into beauty with a concealer designed for men. According to reports, the brand describes The Blur Stick as ‘facial camouflage’ that comes in eight shades and covers up blemishes to razor burn to dark eye circles with this easy-to-use formula.
Good for you, A-Rod.
