Despite now residing in sunny Los Angeles and currently trying to get her Las Vegas residency back on track, Adele popped back to her hometown of London last week to scoop up three wins at the Brit Awards. But her wins on the night, nor her stunning performance, nor her beautiful gown, were enough to distract from the one question on everyone’s lips from the moment she hit the red carpet: is she engaged?!
Adele injected some Hollywood glamour into the night wearing a custom-made Giorgio Armani gown featuring a tulle décolletage and tail. But it was her hand accessory that really caught people’s attention: a huge Lorraine Schwartz pear-shaped diamond ring on that finger, prompting speculation the singer is newly engaged to her partner, NBA coach, Rich Paul.
Now, Adele has addressed the rumours in her usual candid way. Speaking to Graham Norton on his talk show, the singer opened up about her desire to keep her relationship out of the public eye. “If I was [engaged], would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t?” she told Graham, neither confirming nor denying reports.
She did, however, hint that she’s got plans to have another baby in the near future, saying her family plans are one reason she’s so keen to get her Las Vegas residency underway. “It is absolutely 100% happening this year,” Adele said of the residency, which was due to begin in January but was postponed at the last minute.
“It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year. Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!” Adele, who has a nine-year-old son from her previous marriage, went on: “[I’d] like to have more children — I only just feel like I’ve caught up with my sleep from nine years ago when I had my son.”
Of course, Adele and Paul sparked dating rumours last summer when they attended an NBA Finals game before making their relationship Instagram official in September. A month later, Adele gushed about her romance during an interview with British Vogue, saying, “Yes, we’re together. We’re very happy.”
Furthermore, a source close to the singer recently told E! News that the two are “very much in love.” They added, hinting at an engagement, that “Their relationship has become more serious in the last few months.”
