It sounds like wedding bells are in the future for Adele and her boyfriend of two years Rich Paul.
Celebrity gossip Instagram account Deux Moi was the first to report on the rumoured engagement earlier this week, noting their tip-off comes from a “reliable source” — AKA it’s very likely true.
UK tabloids, such as The Sun and The Daily Mail, then jumped in, alleging sources confirmed the same thing to them. The former went so far as to say the British singer plans to get married to Paul in a few months’ time when summer hits in the Northern Hemisphere.
To top it all off, apparently, Adele wore a diamond ring on that finger Las Vegas residency show over the weekend — though it pays to note, this wouldn’t be the first time she’s sported a huge rock there, prompting the internet to go wild.
In February last year, Adele walked the Brit Awards red carpet sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger, resulting in the first round of engagement rumours.
In August she finally set the record straight, saying she’s not married (note the avoidance of answering whether she was engaged), but “in loooove! I’m happy as I’ll ever be. I might as well be married,” she told ELLE at the time, adding that she’d love to have more children. “I definitely want more kids. I’m a homemaker and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music.”
Adele first revealed she was in a relationship with Paul in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in December 2021. “I met him at a birthday party, we were on the dance floor,” she said.
“And then we met a couple years later. We went out for dinner, which he says was a business meeting and I’m like, ‘A business meeting about what?’ And then it was the first time we hung out on our own, without friends, and I think that was a natural way that people would meet each other in real life.”
Adele, who divorced Simon Konecki in March 2021, went on, “Rich just incredibly arrived. I don’t feel anxious or nervous or frazzled. It’s quite the opposite. It’s wild. It feels like it’s consistent and considerate enough that I don’t care who knows. He’s great. He’s so f***ing funny.”
