Pardon the pun but oh my God. Overnight, Adele released the long-awaited music video to her new smash hit “Oh My God” from the recent album, 30. The Grammy award winning artist had teased the project just six days ago and if the short 15 second snippet was anything to judge by, the video was always going to be fashion-fuelled.

The video is direct by Sam Brown and set within a warehouse and layers of drop sheets, Adele can be seen surrounded by empty chairs and belting out the opening lyrics to her single. “I ain’t got too much time to spare / But I’ll make time for you to show how much I care.” The entire wardrobe was styled by Jamie Mizrahi with the first look courtesy of Harris Reed. It features a custom corset and empire waist skirt under a sheer polka dot pussy bow blouse with huge flared sleeves.

The black-and-white video segways into a flurry of ballroom dancing and acrobatics. The camera pans back to Adele. “I’m a fool but they all think I’m blind / I’d rather be a fool than leave myself behind.” As previously seen in social media teasers, Adele is wearing a custom Nicolas Ghesquière Louis Vuitton gown completed with dramatic leather opera gloves.

Prior to the music video release, Adele teased one more look which forms the grand finale of the project. With details inspired by Vivienne Westwood Fall 2022 Bridal collection, the crimson red gown boasts a silk tulle bolero and train with diamond drop earrings, necklace and rings supplied by Cartier. “Lord don’t let me / I said lord don’t let me / I said lord don’t let me let me down.”

According to the international authority in music, Billboard reported at the time that 30 became the top-selling album of the year in just three days of release and debuted with 839,000 album-equivalent units.

Welcome back, Adele.
