An extension of non-working days is always call for celebration. Any excuse to open a second bottle, stay out past prime TV o’clock and polish up your party threads sounds good to us. And by planning a few looks in advance you’ll have a more composed and chic weekend than you ever thought possible.
But what to wear? For this Easter weekender we’re taking cues from some of Hollywood’s most fashionably fierce women. Not only are they boss ladies of their industry, but they can throw together an inspiring outfit like it’s no big deal. Here’s our pick of five killer sophisticated head-to-toe looks you can completely replicate for any chic session out.
First of all. Let’s talk about Jessica Chastain stepping out in Ralph Lauren overnight. Electric blue pin-striping paired with the RL50 red bag (also from Ralph Lauren’s new collection). Then there’s the white pumps, the tan shades, the red lip and THAT haircut. What a woman, what a look. Try it now.
Then there’s Taylor Schilling in the up-down jeans-jacket dance that never fails to impress. The OITNB star is riding the press sessions for her new show Family and (along with her super cute lopped hair) is looking more stylish than ever. She’s making a solid case for houndstooth with that jacket…
But wait there’s Yara Shahidi. The Black-ish actress stepped out in what I must say is one of my most covetable looks of the year so far. Honestly, this is chic-meets-chilled times one million. Also, these paperbag pants…are $140!!! Then having them tied over the Maje pyjama shirt is absolutely inspired.
And ooh boy there’s Jaime King in cargo’s. The actress and former model has been hitting the promo trail for her new Netflix show Black Summer and her style has made us sit up, take note and be reminded of her inherit supermodel status. Cargo trousers are back and when worn with this Prabal Gurung knit the whole look is softened. However, pairing it with her Karen Walker shades she gives the ensemble a very welcome futuristic vibe, too.
And finally Martha Hunt in a slinky evening number without the fuss. Cult-loved Jacquemus is one of the hottest new designers right now, so it’s fitting (literally) to see his midi dress on one of the hottest women. What we love about this is its dressed-up-but-I’m-chill factor. The naked sandals and the simple grooming take this to appropriate levels of could potentially-wear-to-brunch, too.
