Most Gen Y kids will fondly recall coming home from school to a piping hot bowl of Maggi’s 2 Minute Noodles. Some took the wiry yellow noodle in soup form, drowning the squirmy spirals in broth, while others preferred the noodle drier, still slimy, but sans soup. Then there were those who munched on the noodle completely uncooked, usually suffering a case of post-noodle bloat thereafter. Next came the flavour, a point of contention for many which sparked heated debate amongst friends. Chicken was the obvious favourite, then Beef (questionable), then for the really peculiar, Oriental (yes, it did and does exist). And of course, the method of which said flavour was executed. Were you a cook-and-stir sprinkler? An in-the-bowl duster? Or did you go plain? (2 Minute Noodle blasphemy, but you know who you are). So, so many variables. So today when we saw Diet Prada compare a pair of Bottega Veneta’s Pre-Fall yellow mules to a block of 2 Minute Noodles, we were, as the young kids call it, “dead”.

A meme too good not to share, Bottega Veneta’s wiry yellow mule sandal from their upcoming Pre-Fall 2020 collection bears an uncanny resemblance to the noodles of childhood dreams (and hungover adult ones). While we’re not sure if the processed noodle played muse to Creative Director Daniel Lee or not, you can’t deny it, the likeness is uncanny. One of Diet’s Prada’s best yet, please enjoy the hilarious comparison below, which is best shared, unlike the noodles themselves.
