Fashion month is gathering pace, but plenty is still happening all across the industry.

As we usher in a new season, brands are finding ever more compelling ways to evolve our evening routines and get us excited about milestones, new drops and slick new spaces.

From the new beauty launches to know about, familiar names entering fresh chapters and a few particularly good reasons to look beyond the feed and into the real world, here are the beauty and fashion stories getting our attention this month.

Fashion News & Beauty Drops for September 2026:

Max Mara embarks on its fragrance chapter

Max Mara has officially entered the fragrance conversation with Max Mara Le Parfum. Unveiled in Venice during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival in suitably cinematic surroundings, the launch culminated in a candlelit dinner at the Chiostro della Madonna Dell’Orto, with campaign face Florence Pugh in attendance.

The fragrance itself takes its cues from Max Mara’s founding idea of the coat as both clothing and confidence: an “invisible coat” that moves with the wearer. Sensual tuberose and vanilla meet cedarwood and sandalwood, resulting in a scent designed to feel like a second skin. The campaign’s mantra? “When you’re ready, you’ll know.”

Tucked in a quiet corner of Sydney’s Paddington, P. Johnson has opened its new global flagship.

At 510 square metres, the Gosbell Street wonderland has been beautifully conceived as a home, with a coffee bar and hospitality at its heart, plus plenty of room to linger.

Designed by Tamsin Johnson, the warehouse-meets-gallery interior juxtaposes stainless steel, concrete, mesh and brick-red steel with vermilion corduroy drapes, back-lit mirrors and an ocelot-pattern carpet. The full men’s ready-to-wear collection sits alongside made-to-measure tailoring and a selection of artisanal goods, all reflecting the brand’s particular blend of ease and meticulous craft.

Augustinus Bader introduces a hard-working night cream

When Augustinus Bader announced it was adding another product to its highly considered offering, we knew we’d need to make space on our bathroom shelves.

A rich but breathable formula, The Overnight Restorative Cream is packed with the brand’s patented Advanced TFC8®, alongside cica, rosehip, carob, polyglutamic and hyaluronic acids designed to work with the skin’s natural overnight renewal cycle.

The idea behind the science-led formulation is that while you sleep, the cream gets to work on hydration, visible fatigue, redness, firmness and the skin barrier, so come morning, your complexion looks a little less like it has also been answering emails at midnight (even if it has).

Courtney Zheng turns inward for Fall/Winter 2026

For Fall/Winter 2026, Courtney Zheng is going somewhere more personal…

Titled Deadly Valentine, after Charlotte Gainsbourg’s song, the collection explores love, loss, inheritance, and renewal through clothes that function as emotional armour. It marks a shift for the designer, who describes it as a more confident expression of her own voice after the transition from girlhood to womanhood.

Restrained silhouettes conceal tension beneath the surface, reflecting Zheng’s interest in women who are “complex and layered” rather than perfectly polished. The visual language naturally follows suit, drawing on the films of Lars von Trier and Tom Ford for a hauntingly beautiful campaign.

Cult Sydney retailer Above The Clouds is dropping its latest ASICS collaboration with a new interpretation of the GEL-SD-LYTE™. Coach is on the move for Live Your Story

Coach’s Fall 2026 campaign, Live Your Story, has a deceptively simple premise: perhaps we should spend a little more time actually being there.

Interestingly, the idea grew out of conversations with Gen Z consumers about wanting less screen time and more real-world connection, prompting Coach to lean into its ties to the music industry as a vehicle for both self-expression and community.

Four short films star Coach ambassadors PinkPantheress, SOYEON, Lilas, and Shan Yichun, with Elle Fanning appearing in all four as the driver of a bus headed to a music festival. Naturally, the Tabby bag comes along for the ride, with five special-edition versions inspired by the campaign’s stars, alongside concert-ticket charms designed to look like the sort of keepsake you might actually collect after a good night out.

Lara Worthington’s long-awaited beauty venture, OMMAGE, officially hits the market on September 29, bringing some colour and tactility to your makeup bag.

Conceived around sculptural objects, intuitive application and formulas designed to enhance rather than correct, the brand launches with three products: First Base, a buildable tinted cream; Lip Coat, a blurred, hydrating colour; and the Buffer Brush, a weighted aluminium tool designed to glide the tint on with ease. The formulas are all vegan and cruelty-free, while the packaging looks designed to be shown off rather than disappear into the drawer.

Chopard celebrates a sparkly milestone

Fashion news September 2026 / Image: Chopard

Diamonds, apparently, are happier when they’re free!

To mark 50 years of Happy Diamonds, Chopard has transformed its Fifth Avenue boutique into an exhibition charting the history of the House’s most recognisable concept. Open from September 18 to 20, the show brings together jewellery, watches, sketches and archival material from the 1970s through to the 1990s, alongside contemporary designs.

It began in 1976 with the idea of free-floating diamonds, inspired by sunlight catching the spray of a waterfall, then moved through icons including the Happy Clown and 1993’s Happy Sport. New pieces, including Happy Sport The First and the geometric Happy Diamonds pendants, also sit alongside the archive, proving that the art of fashioning shine never goes out of style.
