December is not only a season of giving thanks. It’s a time for reflection, too. Daisy Edgar-Jones is acutely aware of what this period requires, which is why she ended her most fashion-forward spell in the industry with a very festive dress perfect for her accessible yet aloof cool girl persona.
The British actress’ penultimate look came courtesy of the opening night party for her new project, the West End rival of Tennesse Williams’ 1955 play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Hosted at the Almeida Theatre, Edgar-Jones embraced the yuletide colour palette in a modular pine green mini dress from Victoria Beckham.
Indeed, as the stretch towards Christmas shortens. Her decision to eschew the oversaturated red velvet textures à la Hailey Bieber’s holiday party outfit or sumptuous wintery white knits has cemented Edgar-Jones as a style pundit.
The sculptural piece is a one-shoulder outline that slightly protrudes from the body in asymmetrical waves, courtesy of the detailed wiring embedded into the garment, and finishes in a scalloped-shaped hem.
Continuing her penchant for avant-garde shapes, the 26-year-old completed the ensemble with Tory Burch’s peep-toe pumps from the New York designer’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. (Fellow London savant, Alexa Chung, also endorsed this footwear when she walked the show’s runway.)
Of course, it’s only fitting that the Normal People star wraps up her triumphant year this way. Shedding the character of the nice yet quaint indie darling, Edgar-Jones delivered a tempest of style through her collection of boho chic and minimal silhouettes.
At the top of the year, Edgar-Jones tried her hand at method dressing in a stormy custom Vivienne Westwood dress at the world premiere of Twisters. Later, while in New York to promote the film, she embraced her inner Sienna Miller in a suite of Chemena Kamali creations for Chloé. At the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, she took cues from the 70s in an ethereal pleated blue Gucci gown with a stunning scarf accent. Long may she continue this reign in 2025.
