Would you have the guts to wear a new season piece on the day it drops? Well if you’re all-American popstar Olivia Rodrigo and the designer in question is beloved Australian label St. Agni, the prospect sounds like a good idea, right? Indeed, the 21-year-old songstress held no bars during a recent outing in Sydney by reaching for a just-dropped style from the internationally lauded Byron Bay-based brand.

Taking to her lilac-covered pop-up merch store in the harbour city, Rodrigo opted for a more demure take on her late 90s dressing sensibilities with a sleek, boat-neck dress. The design features intentional folds in the fabric à la a paper bag to create a deliberate lived-in effect and casual chicness. Completed with structured cap sleeves and a sensual deep v-neck back, this white cotton mini is the ideal summer dress for days that require a touch of sophistication and a sense of effortlessness.

The latter has been St. Agni’s design methodology since the brand’s outset—something that is now reaping dividends as it becomes a staple for the celebrity style set and celebrates its tenth anniversary. The milestone coincides with the launch of its Resort ‘25 collection—which Rodrigo’s dress is a part of—making her endorsement the ultimate cherry on top of the first-decade in business cake.

Recently, the likes of Kendall Jenner and Meghan Markle have made St. Agni a cornerstone of their minimal wardrobes, with their endorsements increasing to a 60% spike in interest according to fashion e-commerce and data insights website Lyst. But as Rodrigo has proved by pairing the piece with Ganni’s new fire-engine red eyelet ballet flats, the paired-back and austere designs leave room for imaginative styling—something Rodrigo has demonstrated in spades.

Earlier this week, the former Disney Channel child star also subverted the typical rules of attire for dining out while eating at Totti’s in Bondi. For a date with the restaurant’s Neapolitan ice cream sandwich, Rodrigo wore a furry greige sweater, wool black mini skirt, tanned biker boots and a zebra-printed shoulder bag. As for what else she’s had on her down under itinerary? Meeting the viral king penguin chick Pesto at Melbourne’s Sea Life Aquarium, enjoying local delicacies (see: Tim Tams) and sadly falling through a trapdoor on stage.
