Quickly into her career, Taylor Russell cemented herself as a style icon in the making. Even beyond her striking beauty and talent, she endeared herself to a massive following for her willingness to take sartorial risks. And now, whether it’s a wooden bodice at the Met Gala or a furry take on the classic LBD, the actress is a red carpet mainstay that we can always count on to bring something fresh and intriguing to the step-and-repeat. This year’s Venice International Film Festival has already seen the Bones and All star deliver a slew of chic looks—digging up archival Chanel, no less. Still, Russell and her stylist, Jahleel Weaver, have outdone themselves with her latest outfit.
At the premiere of The Room Next Door, a dramedy starring Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton as old friends, Russell wore a youthful two-piece set that was custom-made by Alaïa.

Featuring a cropped boatneck top that left her back exposed and a drop-waist bubble hem skirt, the look struck the perfect balance of trendy and timeless. To further elevate the playful silhouette, Russell completed the look with a regal diamond choker, matching drop earrings, and a white pair of pumps with an ankle strap.

Russell, who is on this year’s jury, kept her glam relatively neutral with a 60s-style eyeliner look and an orangey-brown lip that complemented her bronzed cheeks.
Having recently cut her hair, she left the retro cut perfectly tousled.
